Ladies and Gentleman! Start your inspiration!

Hello fellow Songwriters,

Once again the season of the Great Canadian Song-Along is upon us. Song-Along is Ottawa’s annual adventure in songwriting and performance – now in its 21st year. With an average participation of 25 performers each year in Ottawa Song-Along has inspired over 500 new songs!

Song-Along is organized by Writers’ Bloc and presented by the Spirit of Rasputins Arts Society http://rasputins.ca Thank you SoR!

Here’s how it works:

  • Write a NEW song on one or more of the topics below, and
  • Sign up to perform that song and one other song of your choice

This year Song-Along will be held at the Westboro Masonic Hall where SoR’s featured artist concerts take place. The address is 430 Churchill Ave. (at Byron).

Performance dates are Friday April 12 and Saturday April 13, starting at 7:00 pm at the Westboro Masonic Hall, 430 Churchill at Byron.

Now…the five topics for 2013

  • a good finish

  • nice try

  • fences

  • crooked line

  • a nonsense song

I hope you are inspired. If you would like to participate, write a NEW song on any of these topics, and contact:

Tony Turner 613-798-0365 / tony.turner@rogers.com
or
Greg Kelly 613-680-6163 / grgr2swtr@yahoo.ca

Make sure you tell us the night you would like to perform. Feel free to collaborate in songwriting / or your performance. If the performer is someone other than the writer, that’s fine. Just let us know closer to the event.

That’s it. We hope you can join in.

Happy writing!
