23rd Annual Great Canadian Song-Along 2015

Hope you are all having a great winter in all the ways you choose to enjoy it. As the days get longer, an Ottawa songwriter’s thoughts turn to preparing for the Great Canadian Song-Along – now in its 23rd year. Wow!

Here’s how it works:

  • Write a NEW song inspired by one or more of the topics below, and,
  • Sign up to perform that song and one other song of your choice

Performance dates are Friday April 17 and Saturday April 18, starting at 7:00 pm. Song-Along will be held at the Westboro Masonic Hall. The address is 430 Churchill Ave. (at Byron).

Now…the five topics for 2015

* holding my breath

* inside out

* no love lost

* you can’t take it with you

* bad luck

I hope you are inspired. If you would like to participate, write a NEW song on any of these topics, and contact:

Tony Turner at tony@tonyturner.ca
Greg Kelly at grgr2swtr@yahoo.ca

Make sure you tell us the night you would like to perform. Feel free to collaborate in songwriting and/or your performance. If the performer is someone other than the writer, that’s fine. Just let us know closer to the event.

Song-Along is organized by Writers’ Bloc http://writersbloc.ca  presented by the Spirit of Rasputins Arts Society http://rasputins.ca Thank you SoR!

That’s it. We hope y’all write your best song ever.

Tony & Greg
